The study followed five cohorts of technicians trained by SARETEC to determine their career progress. The study provided feedback from students and supervisors on the quality of the course and lastly investigates the acceptance of the wind industry in SA of the SARETEC offered qualification.

As a part of its social compact commitment, the GIZ has mainstreamed HIV/Aids into its internal and external organisational processes, with external mainstreaming of HIV/Aids implemented in countries with a prevalence rate of 4% or greater. To give effect to this, the second iteration of the South African German Energy Programme (SAGEN-2) commissioned a HIV review document which investigated HIV/Aids related activities supported by IPPS from their socio-economic spend.

This study assesses changing flexibility requirements in the South African power system resulting from increased levels of variable renewable generation (solar PV and wind), with a time horizon until 2030. The expansion (and decommissioning) of both renewable and conventional power plants is modelled from now until 2030 according to the base case of the draft Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), as published in December 2016.
