UpperBlinkwaterMinigrid_Brochure_web.pdf
The brochure showcases the project summary and lessons learned on the Upper Blinkwater Minigrid Project. This project is based on a strong cooperation between Lower Saxony and the Eastern Cape Province, which have since 1995 had a long-standing partnership and has created a strong political will to implement a minigrid electrification project. The goal of this project is to develop and test a decentralized, sustainable energy supply concept for the rural population in South Africa. The main activity is the development and implementation of a hybrid minigrid system based on renewable energies and diesel backup in a selected community in the Eastern Cape Province.
